Leaving on a Jet Plane...

SAYING goodbye to people is always hard. Especially if those people are close. They have seen you through the bad times and the good. They have watched you throw up all over the street and fall head over heels for every smooth talking schmuck who buys you a rose. They have taken you from one bad break-up to another. Each time you have cried, they have been there to mop up all of the puddles you leave behind. There are not a lot of people you meet in your life that you can trust whole heartedly. With me I can say that when people have stated that you can count only your good friends on one hand, well that's true. And so far, the count is four. One of those four has left. They have escaped the island of dreams. The bubble of Bahrain, which no matter what we do, captivates us all. 'Why?' I hear you ask. Well, despite the fact that there are limited places to shop, party and basically hang out and feel comfortable, you do end up meeting some unique and influential people. Such a small island, full of people raring to leave and explore, yet when it comes down to it they are really more scared than they think. So scared of really experiencing what is real. Of what is beyond their potential. My very good friend Shorty finally takes her leave, only for a few months but she leaves us empty of some sort of reality. Each time I feel down she has been there to pick up the pieces. Where ever I feel lost, she found me. She has always taken me for who I am. She is about to experience the harshest reality of looking after herself for a change. At the same time, she is fighting for her loved ones as well as herself. This girl has a heart unlike any other and is about to take one of the hardest and most thought provoking journeys of her life. I am not moving my support one inch to the left or right. I am here. I am but a simple mind. I was not born to be anything but my own individual character. We only live once, make the best of who you are and what we can become. Take a real look at the people who are around you and look after you. They make life worth living and they also help you to learn more about what you can achieve for yourself. Life is short. When you leave on your jet plane, don't forget reality and the people who lead you through it. Because they are the ones who make life worth living.
